Burton's 2nd Birthday

This little guy is two years old. How does the time fly by so quickly. 

Burton loves:

Food: milk, grapes, fruit snacks, tomatoes, peanut butter, broccoli, and pizza.

Playing any sport: basketball, soccer, football, and baseball...to name a few.

Loves playing with trucks that have a trailer to attach to them.

Going to the ranch and checking the cows and horses.

Copying anything and everything that Daddy or Papa does.

Being cuddled.

Playing outside.

He does not like:

Sleep.

Eating meat (except for on the rare occassion).

When daddy leaves for work.

.....I'm sure there are more things, but I can't think of them right now.

Petting Mr. Moose. He loves to pet him and say hi to him first thing in the morning and as soon as we arrive home.

He loves to be cuddled and rocked to sleep.

Burton thought that having "campfire on my cake" was the best thing ever! He asked for more campfire on his cake several times for the next few days after his party.

We are so thankful for friends and family that helped us celebrate this special guy!

And this video was a couple of days before Burton's birthday while we were in OKC with Nate and Terah. We had a little celebration with cake and "campfire" for him!

Spring Time And Lovin' It

We had a great time in Oklahoma City. We spent a month there for Matt to do training for work. The FAA academy is located in OKC, so we usually spend at least a couple of weeks a year there. This trip was especially fun because my sister, Terah, and her husband, Nate, and their five kids are living there. So we stayed with them for the month! We loved getting to have some special time with them.

While there we visited the Clydesdale Horse ranch. The kids were a little afraid of the large horses, but out back the ranch had a couple of miniture horses, that the kids loved petting!

We also spent a day and drove to Tulsa, OK to see some sites. We visited the Gilcrease museum which had an amazing kids area. We literally could have spent two hours just in the kids part of the museum!

And then, back in Abilene, this is Adalynn's sweet friend, Grace. We are so thankful for the friendships that continue to develop as we build community here in Abilene.

And we have really enjoyed some great time working on our flowerbeds, garden and trying to get grass to grow in our front yard at our new house!

We got to spend Easter with Nate and Terah while we were in OKC. It was great to get some one on one time just us two families!

And, we loved getting some cuddle time with Tucker too!!

And, watching Gwyn, Jolie and Colton play soccer was something I especially loved!

16.5 Weeks

We are so happy to be 16.5 weeks along in this pregnancy #3. Besides being extra tired this time around, it has been a pretty "easy" pregnancy. We are so thankful God is blessing us with another little Cornett!

Winter Sickness

We have been sick nearly all winter long. That is crazy for me. I typically am not one to get sick that much. And, until this winter, my kids were never sick that much either. But, since October, we have had strep throat 3 times, a stomach bug 3 times (or was it 4 times? I've lost count now) and several colds spread throughout those as well. A couple of weeks ago, Burton got strep throat again. On day 8 or 10 of his antibiotics, he began running a fever again. We thought his strep must be resistent to the antibiotic, so he was put on a stronger antibiotic. But, on day 5 of 7 of that antibiotic he began running a fever and developed a nasty rash. So, even though we were in Oklahoma City for training for Matt's job and away from our regular physician, we knew we better find a doctor here in OKC and take him in to be seen. The doctor told us that the rash was from the antibiotic. A rash called erythema multiforme. He told us to stop the antibiotic, but he also wanted to do a CBC to make sure there was nothing more serious going on since Burton had been sick so much. The next day I recieved a call from the Dr saying that I needed to bring Burton back in to be seen immediately. I took Burton back in and the doctor said that his white count was too low. He thought that Burton probably had a virus like the flu or mono, but he wanted to have the pathologist take a look at it just to be sure. And he did a mono test as well. The next day the Dr called to say the pathology looked good (no cancer, etc!) and that the mono test showed that Burton had acutally had mono 6-8 weeks prior. And this was probably just a flare up of his mono due to him having gotten strep throat a couple weeks ago. We have never been so thankful for a mono diagnosis. It is nice to know that he has mono and now we know what we need to do to treat him for it (REST)!). Now we are just trying to figure out how to get an almost two year old to rest :)
